Festivities

I find this time of the year extremely exciting with all the festivals around the corner, weather cooling down and weekends crowded with social gatherings and celebrations. I loved celebrating this time with my family in India but being in bay area has brought me in touch with many other festivals all over in India in different states. Having friends from Gujarat, Bengal, UP, Mumbai and all over India, I get to be a part of Garba nights, Durja Puja and a multitude of other festivals and celebrations. This weekend had the right amount of fun and relaxation combined.

Friday:
Friday night started with doing Garba and Dandiya till my feet hurt. I wore a Fuchsia anarkali suit with my choora on. For those not aware of this custom, newly wed Punjabi women wear it. Sharing some of the pics that scream "bling".

Saturday:
Saturday was a birthday in the family. It was my Uncle's birthday and it's my sisters birthday in a few days so we decided to give a combined birthday party at our place and once again I decided to go the Indian way. Though I am bored of regular ones so I decided to add some spice with palazzo pants instead of the regular bottoms.

Suite:gift from mom(part of my trousseau, heels: ALDO(will make sure to post a pic of them later)

Sunday:
Having had a busy weekend, I slept in on Sunday. It being relatively cold I decided to layer with a soft and cozy cute sweater to counter the gloomy weather for heading to the movies. We watched "Argo" and absolutely loved it. From acting to the portrayal of events, everything amazed us.
