Light House

We had wrapped up our 2013 with a short getaway to Fort Bragg and Mendocino. These are quite towns with some breathtaking views of the Pacific, quaint museums rich with history of the town, beautiful beaches and a plethora of natural reserves filled with some wonderful hikes. The drive to these places was the highlight for me. With little traffic and tall tress on sides of the road, it was a soothing sight to eyes and a great break from the crazy city traffic. We tried some local restaurants and brunch places there with not the best ambience but definitely great food. I surely have few suggestions that might come handy of anyone is planning a getaway. The best place to see it the Cabrillo point Lighthouse. Most of the pictures below are from there. While the views are great, I would highly recommend checking out the house of the Lighthouse keeper which is now open to general public. It is filled with charming knick knacks. Another place highly suggested is the Botanical gardens which end in a small hike to a beautiful beach. We also checked out the Kelley House museum and Ford house museum and I found both very interesting. Rest of our time was spent either going for short hikes, gorging on some great food or relaxing at the beach as the weather was very favorable.
